It's been awhile and I figured I needed to write before it becomes June or July! I don't know about all of you but time is flying!! and I mean FAST!
Let's see....what's going on in wonderful Decatur? Well, nothing! HA - seriously, its been a pretty uneventful month. Jason and I celebrated 3 yrs on 04/22 by going out to dinner at Texas Roadhouse - the place we first met. I don't feel like its been 3 yrs but he thinks its been longer! Can't blame him - I'm not as sweet as I appear!
I've said it before - Jason is usually my entertainment around here. He was with the 'beep' and the running into the post....well now, he's been amusing me at Super Hula on Wii. Yes, its exactly what it sounds like - Hula Hooping! Seriously, nothing funnier than a grown man hula hooping against a clock trying to go faster for more 'spin' points! Good time - you have to witness for yourselves.
On Sunday, Jason and I made a trip into Spfld for Mother's Day. We stopped out at the farm first so that Jason could give dad some fence and get some log chains but then we went to Spfld to take mom to one of her favorites (and mine too), Toyko of Japan! Nothing spells falling off the weight wagon quite like salty Japanese food! It was good and we had a good time. After dinner, we went to visit my Grandma McCreight in the nursing home. It had been awhile since I had heard from her but the saddest thing - she had no idea who I was! Her memory seems to be fading quickly and nothing hurt worse than for her to look at our wedding album and not know who I was or anyone from my family...brother or dad. She recognized mom but didn't remember how she knew her. Very sad. Sometimes, as sad as it sounds, you'd rather the people you care about pass on rather than fight daily with their memory.
As for me and the weight wagon -- well, I didn't hit my goal of 17 lbs. in 17 weeks but I think I did ok. I lost a total of 11 lbs. I just started up another 17 week session (which goes to Sept!!) and lost 1.4lbs today! So officially, 12.4 lbs. Another 7.6 lbs and I'll be satisfied. It will just be to keep it off then - that has always and will always be my struggle.
We are headed out tomorrow for Indianapolis. Jason's cousin is getting married on Saturday so we are making another long weekend of visiting family and friends. I am hopeful to see one of my college friends before she and her husband head to Kansas for him to complete his residency. But as always - there are alot of people to see in very little time....I hope to make some time!
Signing off for now - hopefully, I can catch you all up in a few weeks again. Please come visit us - we love company!
