What a month!! I love July but it always goes by WAY too fast!
Nick and Misty came over on July 2 and stayed until July 5 when I rode back with them to Omaha to spend my birthday week. Jason was going to drive out on July 9 and spend the weekend with us but that booger surprised me and showed up on my birthday when I was out to dinner with Nick and Misty. I hate surprises -- but this was a good one and definitely made my birthday that much more special. I spent the day shopping with Misty and getting a full body massage!! NICE!
Other than that, I spent the week working on their wedding invitations. I love to do that kind of stuff and wish that I had the opportunity to do it more often! It gave me the itch to start my own business but just don't have the nerve and feel like this might be the wrong time in the economy to do so. Anyway, Jason and I drove back to Decatur on July 12 - and back to work we went on July 13. :( (Thanks to my mom for watching our children...they love hanging out with their friends Beau and Sadie)
We went for our next doctor's appt on July 16 where after a few minutes - we finally got to hear the heartbeat! Such a relief. We didn't get it hear it long but it was really fast and just pumping away! It made my heart smile and something that both of us had been waiting a long to time to hear.
Then - Jason's parents came to visit on the weekend of July 17-19. They hadn't been over since January so it was really nice to see them and visit. We just saw them in May but its always nice to have company come to see us. Jason had to work on Sat. so I got to hang out with them and entertain. Not much to entertain with in Decatur - but I think they enjoyed their time here.
As for the belly bump...I would post a pic at 13 weeks - but I wouldn't want to blind us all with my pale skin! Jason took it in my scrubs and sports bra. For the 15 week pic - I will dress more modestly for all to see.
Just went in to Spfld. today to get a belly band or 'the tummy sleeve'. We went to a store called Motherhood Maternity. Pretty nice store. My work pants are getting snug and I don't want to keep having to order bigger size uniforms once a month - so hopefully these will help out. Then we went to Babies R Us to start pricing out baby furniture. We will probably wait until Sept when we know the sex before buying because some furniture looks girlish and others boyish....Jason doesn't think so, but I do. Plus they say most of it takes 8-12 weeks to order and get -- so Sept/Oct will be as late as we can probably go in case the lil dude decides to come early for some reason.
The hormones have finally got to my gums - they are a little swollen and bleed when I brush! I get a cleaning on Aug 11 - so that ought to be a bloody mess. Other than that, I get little twinges down there and I wonder if that is it moving - but feels more like I have butterflies or something. Maybe its just my imagination! I had growing pains in my mid region about a week or two again...just read that it was the hormone relaxin that was in effect and its basically enlarges your pelvis for what its about to carry. Glad most of that feeling is over.
Other than that -- just enjoying the weather before it changes the leaves and starts getting cold again. We are expecting company the first full weekend in Aug (Scott/Heather/kids). We are hoping for a getaway weekend sometime in Sept to celebrate one year - just haven't finalized any of those details yet.
