Fun but eventful weekend

Hello friends and family -

We are winding down from the weekend after many hours of Wii. Our nephew and niece came to visit and were a force to be reckoned with on the Wii. I do believe I beat Sabrina once at boxing but she in turn kicked all three boys butt at golf. We had a really good time with Mario Kart too! It's a good thing that game isn't 3D.

It was a very eventful weekend. Our sweet Lucy managed to hurt her paw as she chased her new 'boy toy' Kinu around. Jason and I ran her off to the vet and left everyone here. Its a good thing we did - b/c Scott was working on our door from the garage when he smelled something funny like smoke. He took a look at the neighbors just to find smoke billowing out from their garage. He immediately grabbed his fire extinguisher and helped them as much as possible before the firefighters arrived. Jason and I came home to 3 fire trucks in front of our house....I PANICKED! The smell of smoke on Scott's clothing brought back a lot of memories from Reservoir.

Anyway, Jason and I are both coming down with something. Jason thinks he is getting (if he doesn't already have) a sinus infection and my throat is sore - and we all know what that means for me! I am just hoping it gets better before it gets any worse.

Update on the weight wagon....Its week 6 and I weighed in today to find that I had lost another 1.6 lbs making it a total of 6.8 lbs in 6 weeks! So I am 0.8 lbs ahead of my goal. I couldn't believe it either with company and a little less exercise than I am used to getting! Another 10 weeks to go and I will be smokin'. HA!! :)

Our Valentine update

Happy belated Valentines Day to you all!! Jason and I had a wonderful day together yesterday. With him working part time - we rarely get a day off together and it just worked out that it was Valentines. I woke up to 2 dozen roses, a large stuffed dog with a rose in its mouth, another stuffed teddy bear, two cards, and lots of Dove chocolate. He even went so far as to but some wire and a glue gun so that he could take the Dove candies and glue them to the wire so that he could make his own 'candy' bouquet! It was really cute and thoughtful!

He in turn was spoiled with some Wii games, candy and a card. He has been playing the same Wii game that comes with the system for about a month and a half now, so it was time for something new. Then we went and got Papa Murphy's pizza and ice cream from Culvers and rented 2 movies.....just like our 1st Valentines together. (Except we had Cold Stone ice cream but that doesn't exist in Decatur so we improvised.) All in all, a wonderful day!

I am doing well on the weight wagon. My goal was a pound a week so I should be at 4 lbs for 4 weeks....I have lost 3.8 lbs. So - just barely off target. Now I need to really pump it up after that pizza and ice cream last night!! so that I can reach 5 lbs this Wednesday.

Nothing else new for us. We will be having company this weekend - Scott, Heather and the kids - and are looking forward to that. We'd like to make a trip back to Indy soon but just haven't been able to pin point a good weekend to do so. Take care - miss you all.
